One-part UV adhesives

One-part UV adhesives is a one-part solvent adhesive (generally based on acrylic, photoinitiators and a chemical activator) which cures on exposure to UV (ultraviolet) radiation, with adhesion then being almost immediate.

UV-cure optical adhesive is a liquid prior to exposure to UV and cures in a few seconds when exposed to UV-A radiation (in the 320-390 nm range), so long as one of the substrates is transparent to UV radiation.

The cure time depends on several factors: the spectrum of the wavelength, the exposure time, the distance between the UV source and the adhesive, the thickness of the adhesive and the effect of the substrates (some thermoplastics absorb UV and slow down the cure rate).

UV-cure adhesives have been used for many years and are particularly well suited to bonding glass (glass/glass, glass/wood, glass/metal, glass/plastic, glass/marble, etc.).

One-part UV-cure adhesives are used in electronics, medical applications, optical applications, decoration, etc. Consequently, UV adhesive for glass and particularly UV-cure adhesive for smartphones are commonly used to bond touch screen.

UV adhesive is available in several viscosities to suit the intended type of application.
