Impregnation resins, potting resins, encapsulation resins… epoxy resins are primarily used to produce a solid and impact-resistant assembly.
One-part epoxy resins are thermosetting polymers which means that they harden due to the effect of heat (temperature). The resin cures or polymerises into a hard, rigid and solid material.
As the resin cures it also shrinks slightly. In addition to high levels of mechanical performance, these resins behave well at elevated temperatures and bond to numerous substrates.
Epoxy impregnation resins can be used as a varnish which retains its properties very well at extreme temperatures, resists chemicals and offers high levels of mechanical protection. This varnish is used to impregnate copper-wire windings in electric motor or transformer applications.
We can offer resins suited to all types of impregnation process (standard dipping, vacuum pressure impregnation, cast, etc.) followed by baking at high temperature.
