Thermex Triplex (NMN) is a flexible, three-layer insulating material consisting of a Mylar polyethylene terephthalate film. A calendered Nomex aramid paper is bonded to both of its faces.

Thanks to its high tensile strength, tear resistance and electrical resistance, Thermex triplex laminate is very widely used in electrical engineering. The excellent chemical and thermal properties of the NOMEX® aramid paper perfectly complement the good electrical and mechanical characteristics of the Mylar polyester film. The key properties of aramid papers are their exceptional resistance to chemicals and solvents and their ability to retain their properties at elevated temperatures (220°C). Consequently, aramid paper covering layers protect the polyester film, even at high temperatures, from the harmful effects of oxidation and hydrolysis as well as from mechanical damage (in systems operating at 155 to 180°C).

There are many different types of laminate in the Thermex range: two, three or four layers.

This material is available in a standard width, cut, notched, adhesive coated or as customised sections or components.
